The Hafler Trio is Andrew M. McKenzie (from Newcastle, England - currently residing in Tallinn, Estonia) working in the field of psychoacoustics and sonic research. Since 1982, The Hafler Trio has produced a prolific body of work involving art, science, sound, religion, comedy and philosophy - emphasizing a dynamic balance and interplay of `body´, `mind´ and `spirit´ over any one of these. McKenzie has previously worked with members of Cabaret Voltaire, Clock DVA, Nurse With Wound, Psychic TV, Whitehouse and Zoviet France. Andrew has also collaborated with performance artists John Duncan and Annie Sprinkle, ex-Fluxus artist Willem De Ridder, artist/designer Neville Brody, and sound/poetry artist Z´EV.
Aki Nawaz a.k.a. Propa-Gandhi is a British rapper and musician, part of the Islamic rap band Fun-Da-Mental. He is best known for his controversial lyrics relating to immorality of the west, jihad and suicide bombers. Nawaz grew up in Bradford, England. In the 1980s, using his proper name Haq Qureshi, he played drums under with the rock band Southern Death Cult, a forerunner to The Cult, which had Ian Astbury on vocals. When Astbury moved on to found his own band, the remaining musicians stayed together for a time, but eventually broke up. Changing musical genres, Nawaz went on to found the Islamic rap group Fun-Da-Mental in 1991.
In 2006, when their record All is War was about to be released through his own Nation Records, two company directors from his distributor Beggar's Banquet Records, Martin Mills and Andrew Heath, threatened to resign. The record was finally released on August 7th 2006 as a download album, with a retail release on the Five Uncivilised Tribes label to follow.

Originally from St. John's, Newfoundland, Don Simmons is a conceptual artist / writer based in Toronto, Canada. Simmons completed his MFA degree at NSCAD in 2002. Ewen Chardronnet is an intermedia artist and independent author who works and lives in Tours, France. His work investigates the social, cultural and environmental consequences of the usage of technologies. As a real-time visual and sound performer he has been collaborating with several projects, such as "XKV8", "Signal Sever!", "Semaphore", "Radiant Heat" and the just released "Planetarium" concert DVD (Lowave, 2007) for electro-blues musicians Rodolphe Burger and Yves Dormoy. He's the project manager for the curatorial or experimental programs of the Tours based e-ngo Ellipse, which contributes to different initiatives such as Makrolab, MIR (zero-g flight in Star City, Russia), Acoustic Space Lab, World-Information.Org, Spectral Investigations Collective, The Laboratory Planet. Widely published, he's working now on a new book on dissemination and the future of war dissuasion in the rise of convergent technologies. He has published "Quitter la Gravité" (Leaving Gravity), an anthology on the Association of Autonomous Astronauts (AAA, 2001, Quitter la Gravité. Frank Rynne is an Irish-born singer, record producer, art curator,
film-maker, writer and historian. He has played in three bands Those Handsome
Devils in 1984, The Baby Snakes (1985-1994) and Islamic Diggers (1996- ). He has
produced three CDs of Moroccan folk music featuring The Master Musicians of
Joujouka. In 1992 Rynne co-organised The Here to Go Show, an international art
show featuring the works of William S Burroughs and Brion Gysin and, with fellow
organisers Joe Ambrose and Terry Wilson, co-wrote Man from Nowhere. In 1996 he co-produced with Joe Ambrose 10%: file under Burroughs which featured John Cale, William Burroughs, Paul Bowles, Bill Laswell, and Bomb
the Bass. 10% also saw The Master Musicians of Joujouka back Marianne Faithfull
on a track “My Only Friend”, a tribute to Brion Gysin. On other tracks
experimental musicians Islamic Diggers and Scanner used Joujouka samples to
create new music.
GX Jupitter-Larsen (sometimes erroneously spelled Juppiter-Larsen) is an artist, based in Hollywood, California, who has been active in a number of underground art scenes since the late 1970s.
He has been involved in punk rock, mail art, cassette culture, the noise music scene, and zine culture. During the 1990s he was the sound designer for the performances of Mark Pauline's Survival Research Laboratories. His best known work is as the founder of the noise act The Haters, who have performed all over the world, and appear on over 300 CD & record releases.

John Zerzan (born 1943) is an America anarchist and primitivist philosopher and author. His works criticized agricultural civilization as inherently oppressive, and advocate drawing upon the ways of life prehistoric humans as an inspiration for what a free society should look like. Steven Johnson Leyba is an artist who paints primarily in hand made fine art books. Leyba is a Native American artist that paints mixed media semi-political sexual paintings. He became quite infamous for his ritual performances with the band U.S.A.F. (two cd's were released by www.adversaryrecordings.com). His new band Hellmouth is working on their first album "TRUTH" and he is a published writer and cultural critic. Nigel Ayers is dedicated to expanding the possibilities of Interactive Art through a combination of art installation, activism, text, online activity and physical objects. His work manifests in the form of books, sculpture, t-shirts as well as in performance experiences.
Having been long involved in experimental music he has recently concentrated on the possibilities of the sound art installation, integrated within the poetic qualities of material objects.
His work examines boundaries between the exotic and the infra-ordinary. Since 2006 he has been involved in an in-depth exploration of the geography, folklore and cultural resonance of place; notably in a series of documented ritual walks on Bodmin Moor.
Nocturnal Emissions is sound art project that has released numerous records and CDs in music styles ranging from electro-acoustic, musique concrete, hybridised beats, sound collage, post-industrial music, ambient and noise music. The sound art has been part of an ongoing multimedia campaign of guerrilla sign ontology utilising video art, film, hypertext and other documents.
From early in their work, the group concentrated on the axiom of music being a form of social control, and highlighted concepts such as information overload, cult conditioning, brainwashing and subliminal advertising, in a critique of information society. Their music drew heavily on worldwide folk traditions as well as that of the European avant-garde.

December 7, 1932 in Helsinki) is a radical Finnish environmentalist. He has
written widely about his ideas and is well-known in Finland. He lives a
materially very simple life and works as a professional
fisherman.
Born in south London on 24 March 1962. His mother Julia Callan-Thompson was a showgirl and club hostess, who died at the age of thirty-five in 1979. Home was registered at birth with the name Kevin Llewellyn Callan,the entry for his father is blank on his birth certificate. Since he claims not to remember it, most of Home´s childhood is blank too.
Home became interested in northern soul and punk rock as a teenager, and from 1974 onwards spent a lot of his time hanging around the West End of London, both alone and in the company of other juveniles.
After leaving school at the age of sixteen, he first signed on the dole in the late seventies, and last claimed unemployment benefits in the mid-nineties. He has never held down a regular job for more than a few months at a time. On those rare occasions when he´s been forced to work, Home has taken employment as a factory labourer, agricultural labourer, shop assistant, office clerk and art class model.
Deciding he didn´t like working in factories as a teenager, Home pursued cultural and political interests, writing many books and participating in even more gallery exhibitions. He lives in London. Thames water, rather than blood, is said to run through Home´s veins.

Terre Thaemlitz is an award winning multi-media producer, writer, public speaker, educator, audio remixer, DJ and owner of the Comatonse Recordings record label. His work critically combines themes of identity politics - including gender, sexuality, class, linguistics, ethnicity and race - with an ongoing critique of the socio-economics of commercial media production. This diversity of themes is matched by Thaemlitz’ wide range of production styles, which include electroacoustic computer music, club oriented deep house, digital jazz, ambient, and computer composed neo-expressionist piano solos. He has released twelve solo albums, as well as numerious 12-inch EPs, 7-inch singles, collaborative albums, remixes, and video works.
He is a resident DJ at Club Module in Tokyo, where his “Deeperama” parties are held bi-monthly. His writings on music and culture have been published internationally in a number of books, academic journals and magazines. As a speaker and educator on issues of non-essentialist transgenderism and pansexual Queer sexuality, Thaemlitz has participated in panel discussions throughout Europe and Japan, as well as held numerous cross-cultural sensitivity workshops at Tokyo’s Uplink Factory, near his current residence in Kawasaki, Japan.

Wulf is the co-founder of the
Zendik movement, along with his life partner Arol. He soon named himself and his real
live movement Zendik. Wulf was an ARTIST: a musician, a writer of fiction and
philosophy, an individualist the likes rarely seen in humanity. He worshiped
beauty and aesthetics, believed in both the harshest discipline and the most
uninhibited pursuit of pleasure.
Wulf relished his chosen role as iconoclast
(definition: One who attacks and seeks to overthrow traditional or popular ideas
or institutions).
After studying at CalArts with Concrete poet Emmett Williams, he produced works using the name S. Weisser, primarily concentrating on visual and sound poetries. In 1969, he was included in the "Second Generation" show at the Museum of Conceptual Art in San Francisco. Beginning in the early 1970s, he developed a personal technique utilizing self-developed instruments formed from industrial materials such as stainless steel, titanium, and PVC plastics. Initially these instruments were assemblages of these materials with a movement-based performance style that was a form of marionette (although with the performer visible). He has since come to refer to this performance mode as 'wild-style', a term originally related to graffiti.
It was at this time that he began performing using the name Z'EV, which comes from the Jewish name his parents gave him at birth: Sh'aul Z'ev bn Yakov bn Moshe bn Sha'ul. While but one of the progenitors of the 'industrial movement' (see Industrial Culture Handbook) he is, however, fairly solely responsible for delivering the 'tribal' impulse and esthetic into the Western/European cultural milieu developing between the years 1978-1984.
In Nov./Dec. 1980 he introduced intense metal based percussion music to the UK and Europe while opening for Bauhaus on their first headlining tours there. His work with both text and sound has been influenced by the Middle Eastern mystical system best known as Kabbalah (although not of the Jewish variety), as well as - but not limited to - African, Afro-Caribbean and Indonesian rhythms, musics and cultures. He has studied Ewe (Ghana) music, Balinese gamelan, and Indian tala.
